Non-Profit Collaborative Seminar: Social Media 2.0
Enterprise Bank’s Non-Profit Collaborative recently kicked off their 2010 seminar series. The first forum, which covered “Social Media”, was held on Wednesday, February 24 at the North Café- Mount Wachusett Community College in the North Central region. A second seminar was conducted in the Greater Lowell Community on Thursday, February 25.
Presenter, George Wallace, President of Discovery Communications, shared his wealth of knowledge and experience with the audience on how Social Media will soon be the most critical driver of their communication strategy. This very well-attended, hour and a half presentation provided an in-depth overview of the following:
- How the most important aspects of a non-profit organization’s Marketing, Fund raising, Recruitment for Volunteers, and Public Relations efforts will be driven through social media
- What Social Networking is, how to effectively apply it to get started – and whether it’s the right fit
- How the implementation of a comprehensive Social Media Strategy can enhance all functions and mission-specific activities of non-profit organizations
- How Social Networking can help a non-profit organization build a network of support and their own community
This session helped create an opportunity for our non-profit community to understand the value of Social Media and what they can do to harness this outstanding medium, and take advantage of its amazing potential.
