Enterprise Bankers Join 25th Anniversary TeamWalk for CancerCare

The Lowell General Hospital 2024 TeamWalk for CancerCare took place on Sunday, May 19. Approximately 50 Enterprise Bankers, friends, and family members gathered at the Tsongas Center with hundreds of other teams, walkers, and event volunteers to participate in the 25th anniversary fundraising walk. According to LGH TeamWalk organizers, as of May 19, the event had raised $638,430.

After taking team photos, browsing sponsor tents, and enjoying pre-walk refreshments and the opening ceremony, walkers embarked on the three-mile course that started and ended at the Tsongas Center. The route featured shaded paths along the Merrimack River before looping past Boarding House Park, through downtown, along some of the canals, under the Aiken Bridge, and along the river again to finish at the Tsongas Center.

Bands and an acapella group provided musical motivation, a step group performed, and volunteers lined the route offering direction, encouragement, refreshments, and thanks to the walkers. After the walk, food and hospitality sponsors served samplings including fruit cups, mac and cheese, hand-cut chips, popcorn, hot dogs, and beverages.

In addition to individual fundraising conducted by team members, Enterprise Bankers served as team organizers and event volunteers. In the weeks before the TeamWalk, various Bank departments assembled and donated baskets covering a variety of themes which were raffled off to raise funds that were donated to the TeamWalk event.

About TeamWalk

Since its inception, TeamWalk has raised over $15 million to help more than 40,000 patients of all cancer types by paying for medications, nutritional supplements, wigs and prostheses, support groups, skilled nursing visits, transportation, mini-grants, and supportive services to patients.
