The Board of Directors of Enterprise Bancorp, Inc. has always embraced the highest standards of corporate governance, conducting business in accordance with the most stringent legal and ethical standards. In April 2003, in an effort to support this mission, and to comply with recently enacted federal regulations, the Board of Directors formed a Corporate Governance/Nominating Committee. The Committee has undertaken the process of complying with the technical requirements of the laws, which in many cases requires simply formalizing those core values that the Company has embraced since its inception.
These principles of governance reflect Enterprise Bank's commitment to providing a working atmosphere where directors, management and employees operate in an ethically sound environment. This environment allows them to provide knowledgeable, prompt, courteous, professional and personalized service to our customers and complete, accurate financial reporting to our shareholders. These corporate governance policies also support our commitment to improve community service, knowledge, customer service, sales and technology.
This website includes the guidelines and charters that govern Enterprise Bank's Board, its management, and all of its employees. These policies provide a framework for the proper operation of Enterprise Bank, consistent with its shareholder's best interest and the requirements of the law. The Board is committed to monitoring the effectiveness of decision-making at the Board and management levels and to rigorously and diligently exercising its oversight responsibilities throughout the Company.
The Board recognizes that the operating environment and regulatory requirements will change on a frequent basis. Accordingly, the Corporate Governance/Nominating Committee will oversee that these policies are updated from time-to-time to reflect the current operating environment.
